Generations to come will benefit from our commitment to the preservation of the natural wetlands and wooded areas of the spectacular Snoqualmie Ridge locale.
One of the best things about living in the Pacific Northwest is the stunning natural surroundings. At Snoqualmie Ridge conservation and sustainable development practices are important elements of our community. We are committed to the protection and preservation of much of our natural and wetland areas. With conservation in mind, we support and encourage activities like walking and bicycling. They lessen the impact of single-occupancy vehicles on the environment and promote the health of our residents.
The partners of Snoqualmie Ridge have set aside 540 acres as permanent open space. This raw land includes many preserved wetland and forested areas.
Our larger parks and the golf course are irrigated with reclaimed water or untreated raw well water, which substantially decreases the demand on the potable water supply of the area. Snoqualmie Ridge is one of the first communities in Washington, and a model for others, as we work to apply this exciting, new innovation.
Plus the landscaping at Snoqualmie Ridge employs native plants and existing vegetation that require less supplemental water and irrigation. Many of our parks will not be permanently irrigated.
The use and application of recycled materials is encouraged wherever feasible in the construction and development of facilities. Current uses may include compost materials, recycled plastics and other materials on site. Additionally, we use green paving and structural materials, reuse topsoil, and relocate native plants. Even the children's climbing toys are made of recycled plastics.
All of these things help to conserve and protect the environment in and around our community. Our residents, builders, personnel, development team and visitors of Snoqualmie Ridge all contribute to our mission.
